WinGeno runs on Mac OS X with the help of Mono.
This is shown with Mac OS X 10.5.6 (Leopard) as an example. First, download and install Mono for Mac OS X from the Mono Download page.
Next steps are:
- Download WinGeno 1.11 (or higher) zip file and unzip in a WinGeno folder
- Open a terminal window in the WinGeno folder
- Via command line call "mono WinGeno.exe"
If you receive a message like "libcups not found. To have printing support, you need cups installed" or "System.DllNotFoundException: libcups.so.2", open a terminal window and type:
sudo ln -s libcups.2.dylib libcups.so.2
Restrictions:
You might experience some redrawing issues in the user interface. To avoid this, please choose a zoom factor which shows the complete Genogram in the work area. Also, after opening a Genogram file from the 'File Open' dialog, the work area is white. To avoid this, click once with the mouse in the work area to force a redraw.
